Boys and Girls Club:

Partnership Overview:

Each weekday at the Boys and Girls Club in Lynn anywhere between 300 and 350 children storm the doors from the hours of 3-9. They play sports, board games; receive homework help, mentoring, dance lessons, craft time, and so much more. Gordon students coach, lead programs, direct plays, and assist numerous students with homework. There is an unbelievable amount of energy and enthusiasm from both the Gordon side and on the part of the Boys and Girls Club.

Areas of college access it address:

Academic Readiness—Gordon students tutor in various academic subjects helping them comprehend and master necessary academic skills.

Social Readiness—The interaction of Lynn youth with Gordon students gives the youth a unique opportunity to spend one-on-one time with college students. In the course of their conversations, children of Lynn are able to hear about the college experience, as well as ask any questions they may have about college preparation or life.
