Program Overview:

LEEP is an alternative program for Lynn public high school, full time day students who need to make up one or more courses that are required for graduation. These students do not need to complete a registration form at the Parent Information Center. LEEP is also an alternative program for students who do not attend day school because they are:

                                                -Dropouts

                                                -Have teen pregnancy issues

                                                -Have outstanding court/legal issues

                                                -Are DYS/DSS students

-Are overage for their grade level

-Are new to the country without records (must be pre-approved by a Deputy Superintendent)

                                                -Have severe discipline problems

-Are students with felony complaints who have been suspended indefinitely from day school

Potential full time/full time LEEP students must receive an application form from their current school guidance counselor which must be given to the LEEP Director for Approval. The approval from must be brought to the Parent Information Center for processing. Students under the age of eighteen must be accompanied to the Parent Information Center by a parent or legal guardian.

For students new students to LEEP and new students entering the Lynn Public Schools, the Parent Information Center, and if applicable, the Language Support Office will assess a student’s record to determine the most appropriate setting. In most cases these students will be assigned to the day school if appropriate records accompany the student. For students who do not present school for two or more years or who are overage for their grade level, the Parent Information Center will assign the student to LEEP with the approval of one of the Deputy Superintendents.*
